Position Summary

The Software Developer/Product Designer will oversee the development, design, and implementation of new and modified software and products. Liaise with Architect, analysts, product owners and designers to ensure software projects meet requirements. This position reports to the Director of Technology.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Research, design, implement, and manage software programs/products/hardware
  • Test and evaluate new programs and hardware
  • Identify areas for modification in existing programs/products/hardware and subsequently developing these modifications
  • Determine operational practicality
  • Develop quality assurance procedures
  • Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
  • Maintain and upgrade existing systems
  • Train users
  • Work closely with other developers, UX designers, business, and systems analysts
  • Documentation and retention of code

Experience & Education Needed to Be Successful in The Role:

  • Four-year college degree desired or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience.
  • Linux or Unix (any)
  • Windows (W7 and 10)
  • Scripting language ability (C / C++, Java, Node.js)
  • Web Frontend (HTML / CSS ; VueJS)
  • Web Backend (Node.js ; (No)SQL ; AWS ; Django ; RMQ)
  • OSI model & TCP/IP (CIDR, routing, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP)
  • VPN technologies
  • DNS zone management, load balancing
  • SSL Certificates
  • Cloud technologies and their SDKs (e.g. Amazon AWS, OpenStack, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
  • Virtualisation (Vmware, Xen)
  • Automation
  • Experience of performance testing and analysis.
  • Experience of working on Agile projects.

Work Environment

This job will operate both remotely and with occasional requirements to work in the central office located in Orlando, FL. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.). Any routine site visits within the region will include outside locations that are subject to a variety of weather conditions. Travel is required but is not extensive.

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time exempt position with expectations of a 40-hour work week. Paid Time Off (PTO) is commiserate with other salaried/individual contributor roles that are assigned to the US Corporate office.
